Lloyd Harbor is a classic "Gold Coast" comunity located on the north shore of Suffok County. Situated on a penninsula (or "neck") protruding into the Long Island Sound, Lloyd Harbor has more than its fair share of quiet beaches, rolling hills and natural beauty. Residents and visitors alike can enjoy historic Caumsett State Park, which offers miles of trails for hiking or biking in the summer, cross-country skiing in the winter, and nature-watching year round.
Lloyd Harbor was settled in the 1600s by James Lloyd and was considered a strategically important location by the British, who built a number of forts along the Lloyd Harbor neck during the Revolutionary War. The Joseph Lloyd Manor House still stands today and over the years has been home to such notable residents as Charles Lindbergh and Billy Joel.
