A short drive from the beaches of Northport and Sunken Meadow Park, Commack is a hamlet located in the neighboring towns of Huntington and Smithtown. The hamlet is home to beautiful homes, an excellent school system and, of course, Bob Costas. It also is home to a quite a bit of history: the (now) Brooklyn Nets used to play in the since departed Long Island arena and it was home one of the most famous drive-ins on the Island. If you are looking for a quiet yet fun community, Commack may be the place for you.
For world class golfing and relaxation, the recently renovated Hamlet Golf and Country club is a private club offering, along with golf, state of the art tennis and swimming facilities. After a long day on the course, stop by one of the 7 Wonders of Long Island (as per WBLI radio station), the Commack Motor Inn, for a tour, if not a stay.
The Commack school system is award winning. In several years past, Commack High School was named one of the 100 best high schools by US News and World Report. In addition to primary school education, the Long Island Business Institute offers unique opportunities to local high school graduates and local workers looking to complete their education.
